Thanks to a federal grant, the Hillsboro Fire Protection District was able to purchase a new breathing air compressor. This compressor is used to fill our SCBA's or air tanks we wear on our backs when we are fighting a fire. The federal government picked up 95% of the cost of the compressor and the fire district was only responsible for 5% of the cost. Final cost to the fire district will be around $2,331.75 with the federal government picking up the additional $44,303.25.
