The Hillsboro Fire Protection District makes an effort during Fire Prevention Week to visit every preschool, daycare, private school and the Hillsboro Primary School during the first week of October to get the Fire Safety message out to every child that we possibly can! Topics include:

1. Stop, Drop and Roll
2. Crawl Low Below the Smoke
3. Family Escape Plans
4. Smoke Detectors
5. Don't be Afraid of Firefighters
6. Fire House Tours
7. Fire Truck Tours

The Hillsboro Fire Protection District also offers to parents, access to a Juvenile Fire Setters Program for kids who have either started fires or are extremely curious about fires. The goal of this program is ensure children don't set fires. Contact the Fire Marshal for any additional information.

The Hillsboro Fire Protection District also participates in numerous career days at our schools, fairs, carnivals, the Jefferson County Fair, and many other community events free of charge!

3. Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and AED Training for both the community and professional responder
4. First Aid Training
5. Safe Sitter Program
6. Community Emergency Response Team Training (CERT)
